My favorite sale of the year is just around corner! It is seriously the best sale – even better than Black Friday in my opinion – and I want to make sure you are all prepared! So I put together this quick guide to the sale to answer any questions you might have about it and some of my best tips for preparing so we’re all ready for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

The anniversary sale is the biggest sale of the year for Nordstrom where they have brand new merchandise on sale. Yes you read that correctly – everything included in the sale is brand new.

When is the sale?

The sale goes from July 19 – August 4. All sale items will go back to full price on August 5.

Can I get early access to the sale?

Yes! Nordstrom card holders get to access the sale a full 7 days (July 12) before the public. This includes both debit and credit card holders. If you’re not signed up for a card, I would highly recommend it! The debit card is similar to a Target red card – comes straight out of your bank account. And you earn points on every purchase when then turn into Nordstrom notes ($5, $10, $15, etc) that you can use towards future purchases. There’s still time to sign up for a card!

Can I see what’s included in the sale?

Yes! You can view the catalog here. In previous years they’ve also shown products online once early access begins too. So you can see even if you can’t shop them quite yet!

Will items be restocked after the sale?

It depends. Some years a lot of things get restocked, some years barely anything does. Once it’s gone, it could be gone for good.

What’s your number one tip for shopping the sale?

If you see something you want online, buy it. Even if you’re going into the store. It may not be in the store and it may sell out before you get back from the store. You can always return it – Nordstrom has a fantastic return policy. Things will go quick. I’ve seen items sell out before the sale even opens to the public. So if you like it – buy it.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Prep Tips

Start Saving

This is the biggest tip I can give you. If you’re wanting to really shop this sale – start saving for it! I definitely don’t have an unlimited income/amount I can spend in the sale, so I usually put some money aside so I can shop guilt free. It of course limits what I’m able to buy before and after the sale but I’ve never been disappointed with what I’ve picked up during the sale.

Do your research

Before I look at the catalog I think through what I’m actually needing. Do I need new boots? Jeans? Jacket? Once I have my list, then I look at the catalog and see if there’s anything in those categories first and plan/budget those. Then I look through everything else and budget those in as I can. Maybe this is too much planning but then I prioritize that list. What is the number one thing I want to buy? What’s next? etc. This helps me face the sale with a plan!
